No pics from Krabi 2007 so here they come!

I am at my glamorous best.

Sheraton Krabi by night.

Started the next day with Ms Ellie Phant here thinking I was her breakfast.
She's at the lobby every morning for guests to interact with her.

Hammocks by the beach.
They were only there for one day, the rest of they days they disappeared :(

Chillaxing in the hot midday sun.
felt great though.

A spot of camwhoring before lunch.

And more krazee krabi shots before dinner.

Ruby's wedding

Dinner with Ngoc, Nguyen, Thoa, Ben and Dolly

Self-timer fun at one of the schools, while we were going around paying the school fees.

The Wedding Reception

Truly, the first time I've taken a picture with an ice sculpture.

As you can see behind us, there is a gentleman singing on stage. Something interesting about Vietnamese weddings, is that attendees at the wedding party will sing for the bridal couple! I bet the wedding package comes complete with that live band. I believe this stems for the love of Karaoke, one of the nation's passions. Vietnamese like Filipinos love music and love to sing. So throughout the dinner (or lunch like we had) there will be people singing their hearts out on stage.

The nice pink nails that I did - 95,000 VND.
prices are going up!

Mui Ne Beach, Phan Thiet, Vietnam

i knew something funny was going on behind me

red sand dunes

Goats crossing

one of the interesting things about Mui Ne is all the different landscapes in a small town.

there's the long stretch of beach. this is the clean and beautiful touristy part.

then we come to the fishing village part. the fishing boats are interesting (i didn't get any close-ups of the colourful boats) and the traditional fishing baskets. there's more rubbish scattered on this side of the beach, and of course the smell of fish is in the air.

u can see the smaller boats behind me.

the larger fishing boats are seen here, but lousy weather and resultant lousy pic.

after that is the great expanse of land, which reminds me of American cross-country road trips with the telephone wires and the never-ending roads.

We never got to the White Sand Dunes and the Lotus Lake. It was too far away and we didn't have petrol to spare. Well we didn't exactly know which road to take either. But we did catch a glimpse of the white sand... and matched with the lake it would have been a sight to behold.

take a look thanks to these lovely people. See more at their travelogue.

Fairy stream, see the red and white sand merge together as you wade in the cooling water which flows from the waterfall.

The Beach Resort
"Take me to the beach!"

The end to a lovely holiday. I love that the place isn't crowded with people like Phuket, so you get the beach all to yourself. Mostly Europeans, Koreans/Japanese and locals visit the place. The beach is littered with resorts, from the back-packer room to luxury resorts like Coco Beach for every budget.
